Its one and two star share is 5 points above the typical installer in Columbus. Across Ohio, 39 of the 113 installers whose breakdown Google has published carry a higher share than this one.

The percentages are Google’s own arithmetic over every review it holds, not a sample we assembled. Separately we hold 77 review texts for this company, quoted below. Google publishes review ages rather than dates, so every date here is approximate.

A lot of stuff started to fail on our equipment about four years after installation. The service team is pretty unresponsive and unreliable. They really make you do the leg work and follow up multiple times all while you’re leaving energy on the table because your system is down.

I don't know if I would trust this company for my solar, Ive heard technicians outside screaming profanities, as well as doing terrible cuts on the rails that support the solar panels. Seems more like a group of guys trying to hustle rather than a professional solar company.

I have had my solar array with them installed for less than 4 years. Install was a huge hassle and they made multiple mistakes where they had to completely redo things. They changed my system size last minute to where I was paying more for less. Every single year my system has had an issue where I have had to pay them more money to come out. My array just went down for the second time in less than a year and they quoted me $500 just to come out and figure out why. They installed a bunch of SolarEdge equipment which fails within a few years (it’s a common issue, you can read about it online.) T

Our solar journey has been a couple of years in the making and we are very fortunate that Ecohouse Solar worked with us to install our solar system. We interviewed and met with several installers in the central Ohio area and received recommendations but ultimately knew from the first interaction that Ecohouse would be the company we would choose to work with. Throughout the entire process, the Ecohouse staff has been responsive, professional, patient and respectful. Ultimately we installed 24 solar panels at our farm in Delaware County and have been very satisfied with the output of the system

Learned how to install solar panels and learn about some of the materials used in order to be able to be a better solar consultant

Ecohouse installed our 10.8 KW solar electric system in January 2021. We are pleased with the results. We enjoyed working with Michael Brennan as he explained the process, answered all our questions, and followed up when the installation work was completed. The workforce personnel did first-class quality work and were polite and considerate. (I am retired from industrial maintenance supervision and engineering, thus I'm qualified to make the assessment of the workmanship quality.) The electrical inspector made positive comments about this job. Various background requirements must be taken care

What the company says about itself

Taken from its own website. We have not checked any of it, and a sentence on a website is not evidence.

  • Financing

“Financing & Leasing With flexible financing options, we make the cost of going solar more…”
  • Established

“people save money and our planet. Since 2008, we’ve worked to create a sustainable…”

Its website also mentions free estimate and years in business, but not in a sentence we can quote cleanly.

Elsewhere

  • It is also reviewed on the Better Business Bureau and Yelp. Worth reading before you sign anything: those are a different crowd, and the complaints that reach the Better Business Bureau rarely reach Google.
  • It posts on YouTube, LinkedIn, Instagram and Facebook. A page that stopped posting years ago tells you something a listing will not.

Who Google shows alongside them

Google’s own “people also viewed” set, in Google’s order. It is Google’s comparison, not ours.

The ones without a link have no page here, either because Google does not categorise them as solar businesses or because we could not match the name to a listing with confidence.

What we don't know

  • The date above is the newest review we hold, which is not necessarily the newest that exists — we hold a large share of Google's reviews, not all of them.
  • We do not verify licences, insurance or bonding. Nothing here has been checked against a state licensing board.
  • We cannot tell you what an installation costs, and we hold nothing about the equipment they fit.

Something wrong here? Tell us and a person will read it.
