Its one and two star share is 3 points above the typical installer in Columbus. Across Ohio, 42 of the 113 installers whose breakdown Google has published carry a higher share than this one.

The percentages are Google’s own arithmetic over every review it holds, not a sample we assembled. Separately we hold 22 review texts for this company, quoted below. Google publishes review ages rather than dates, so every date here is approximate.

Ordered by the share of one and two star reviews, weighted by how many reviews stand behind it. It ranks review records, not workmanship.

Every company we hold in Columbus, on one axis

0% rated 1–2★45%

Each mark is one company we hold in Columbus whose Google breakdown has been read, placed by its share of one and two star reviews. Vespa Solar is the red one. The amber line is the middle of that set, which includes suppliers and maintenance businesses as well as installers.

What reviewers said

When we decided to go 'solar', we looked at several companies. Scott, with Vespa Solar gave us a reasonable bid, and gained our trust immediately. He has been responsive and very helpful. Sam and his crew of installers were great. They came early and stayed late to complete the install promptly. We are looking forward to the savings generated by solar power. We highly recommend Vespa Solar!

Excellent experience, have spoke to a handful of solar companies in the past and Vespa Solar offered better equipment and warranties than my previous quotes. Very happy with my decision, Ive only had 1 AEP bill out of 8 months into solar for $6.

Had an excellent team that assisted me through my journey for solar power. Kept me informed of my process of approvals. They take care of all the permits, including the HOA application. Shopped with 2 other major companies but Vespa offered more financial packages. I picked the one that saved me the most. I am already saving money in March and my bill comes out to be lower than $13. Expecting to save over $270 during peak months while the AC is running. Looking forward to ownership sooner and free energy. I highly recommend Vespa and the team.

What the company says about itself

Taken from its own website. We have not checked any of it, and a sentence on a website is not evidence.

Its website also mentions warranty, but not in a sentence we can quote cleanly.

    Elsewhere

    • It is also reviewed on Yelp and the Better Business Bureau. Worth reading before you sign anything: those are a different crowd, and the complaints that reach the Better Business Bureau rarely reach Google.
    • It posts on Facebook. A page that stopped posting years ago tells you something a listing will not.

Ordered by how much we can tell you about each, which is not an order of quality. We do not know which of these is better and would not say if we did.

    What we don't know

    • The date above is the newest review we hold, which is not necessarily the newest that exists — we hold a large share of Google's reviews, not all of them.
    • We do not verify licences, insurance or bonding. Nothing here has been checked against a state licensing board.
    • We cannot tell you what an installation costs, and we hold nothing about the equipment they fit.
