Its one and two star share is 3 points above the typical installer in Tampa. Across Florida, 195 of the 675 installers whose breakdown Google has published carry a higher share than this one.

The percentages are Google’s own arithmetic over every review it holds, not a sample we assembled. Separately we hold 185 review texts for this company, quoted below. Google publishes review ages rather than dates, so every date here is approximate.

I’m very disappointed with my experience with Freedom Solar. The sales pitch emphasized an “18-month no interest” offer, which made it sound like a true 0% APR promotional period. However, what was not made clear is that you are still required to finance through a third-party loan company. Although Freedom Solar provides 18 months of interest money upfront, the loan itself immediately includes those finance charges in the total amount. This means that unless you pay off the entire loan on day one, you end up paying more than the original principal. In my case, I didn’t fully understand this st

This installation experience has been incredibly frustrating. While the salesman was helpful, I was initially recommended a system that couldn't be supported by a single battery. This oversight should have been identified much earlier in the process. Although I opted to downsize the system, which wasn't a major concern in itself, the subsequent delays have been unacceptable. It took almost three weeks to receive the revised paperwork, and my project has been stalled in the design phase for even longer. Despite contacting customer support multiple times, I've received nothing but vague assuranc

Seemed awesome through installation. The team that came out were professional and did a great job. However, over 4 months later the system is still not on. If you manage to get someone on the phone, which is rare, they often can't help and promise a callback, which never happens. They dropped the ball getting the PTO from FPL. That was finally straightened out and now they are unreachable to get help getting the system up and running.

After doing a significant amount of research before choosing a solar provider, I decided in Freedom Power, and I’m very glad I did. From start to finish, the experience was smooth, professional, and well-organized. A big part of that positive experience was working with Robert G., our sales representative. Whenever I had a question, he was exceptionally responsive and always got back to me quickly with clear, helpful answers. His communication and support gave me confidence throughout the entire process. What I appreciate most was that Freedom Power is that they handled nearly everything for u

What the company says about itself

Taken from its own website. We have not checked any of it, and a sentence on a website is not evidence.

  • EPA certified

“services in Austin and Houston. As EPA-certified professionals, we ensure every job is…”
  • 24/7 availability

“Pro-level purification working 24/7 so your air stays clean without you…”
  • Years in business

“solar panels in the U.S.A. for over 10 years, which meet or exceed all industry…”
  • Licensed

“our experienced, certified, and licensed technicians provide reliable and…”

Its website also mentions financing, warranty and free estimate, but not in a sentence we can quote cleanly.

Elsewhere

  • It is also reviewed on Yelp. Worth reading before you sign anything: those are a different crowd, and the complaints that reach the Better Business Bureau rarely reach Google.
  • It posts on X, Facebook and Instagram. A page that stopped posting years ago tells you something a listing will not.

What we don't know

  • The date above is the newest review we hold, which is not necessarily the newest that exists — we hold a large share of Google's reviews, not all of them.
  • We do not verify licences, insurance or bonding. Nothing here has been checked against a state licensing board.
  • We cannot tell you what an installation costs, and we hold nothing about the equipment they fit.
