Its one and two star share is 10 points above the typical installer in Houston. Across Texas, 184 of the 728 installers whose breakdown Google has published carry a higher share than this one.
The percentages are Google’s own arithmetic over every review it holds, not a sample we assembled. Separately we hold 453 review texts for this company, quoted below. Google publishes review ages rather than dates, so every date here is approximate.
Every company we hold in Houston, on one axis
Each mark is one company we hold in Houston whose Google breakdown has been read, placed by its share of one and two star reviews. Freedom Power is the red one. The amber line is the middle of that set, which includes suppliers and maintenance businesses as well as installers.

I am incredibly disappointed with the system and service provided by Freedom Solar Power over the last two years. There are two major issues that the company completely refuses to resolve: Poor System Sizing: The solar system is severely underperforming compared to what was promised during the initial design and sales process. It is clear the system was poorly calculated and incorrectly sized at the time of sale, meaning it does not deliver the solar offset or the results I invested in. Loss of Monitoring: A fundamental part of my original investment was a working monitoring system. Due to the

This company will not fix any problems in a timely manner. I have had an issue with my panels for at least a year. After a very long wait they will send a work person. Then if the project isn't finished or solved it will take another month or two to get another repair person. In my cast it has been at least a year and they are not finishrd. Today is an example. A man was here and fixed 99% of the problem. I just got an email that it will be two weeks to get someone for the other 1%. And that is very fast for them. Do not use this company!

Freedom Solar started out with a lot of promise. I even referred 5-6 people to them as their product seemed good. Their sales professional was good to work so I went them. However, the operations/service team is terrible. Very unprofessional. They talk good, but don't deliver. Very mismanaged. Their contract is misleading too. They quote a "fixed monthly" fee and then charge you sales tax which was left blank in the contract. I am working with attorneys to find a way out for me and all my referrals. I also intend to return their referral fees. Be careful if you sign up with them.

Installed solar panels, promised rebates that I never received, solar panels so far have not performed enough to combat energy consumption. Not very responsive. Sent emails never got a response, left voicemails never got a response. Company sent link asking for review. Year update: I did eventually get my rebate taken care of. After a year of operation I still have about a 70% grid dependency. I think my system is undersized for the power I use. The system itself is decent and I haven't had any issues with it. However, for the price I figured I would just have a little be less grid dependency.

While it took 3 months to get on the schedule for a warranty replacement, my installer team, Tylor and Stephen were the best! They were attentive to our concerns, and went out of their way to make the process as seamless as possible. I highly recommend you request them for any work pending or future work orders.

Carlos Munguia has been consistently responsive to our queries and has helped when our project manager failed to respond to multiple emails over a period of months. If Carlos could also somehow be our project manager we would welcome that! update: we elected to add more panels to our array; the electrician (Joe) took care of his piece of this puzzle expeditiously and courteously. Very pleased! Update: Tesla recalled 3 of our PowerWall2 units and these were replaced, under warranty, by PowerWall3 units. Techs Tylor Webb and Stephen Saldana arrived on time and worked well together to make the jo

What the company says about itself
Taken from its own website. We have not checked any of it, and a sentence on a website is not evidence.

“services in Austin and Houston. As EPA-certified professionals, we ensure every job is…”

“Pro-level purification working 24/7 so your air stays clean without you…”
Years in business

Its website also mentions financing, warranty and free estimate, but not in a sentence we can quote cleanly.
Elsewhere
- It is also reviewed on GuildQuality and Yelp. Worth reading before you sign anything: those are a different crowd, and the complaints that reach the Better Business Bureau rarely reach Google.
- It posts on X, Facebook and Instagram. A page that stopped posting years ago tells you something a listing will not.

Ordered by how much we can tell you about each, which is not an order of quality. We do not know which of these is better and would not say if we did.
What we don't know
- The date above is the newest review we hold, which is not necessarily the newest that exists — we hold a large share of Google's reviews, not all of them.
- We do not verify licences, insurance or bonding. Nothing here has been checked against a state licensing board.
- We cannot tell you what an installation costs, and we hold nothing about the equipment they fit.
