Its one and two star share is 31 points above the typical installer in Campbell. Across California, 67 of the 1,529 installers whose breakdown Google has published carry a higher share than this one.

The percentages are Google’s own arithmetic over every review it holds, not a sample we assembled. Separately we hold 20 review texts for this company, quoted below. Google publishes review ages rather than dates, so every date here is approximate.

I called this morning to go over a mutual customer of ours , I have been calling for several days asking for Rich - he is always out. Immediately the person on the other end had a sarcastic attitude???? I explained the situation, we are trying to install a new roof, on a roof they have their equipment. The questioning from the person was defensive, again I have called several times, the person even chuckled when they found out the mutual customer, why, our mutual customer is a sweet lady?? I asked for a supervisor? Oh they have none?? of course they don't, "someone" has Zero Customer Service s

I'm not a customer and won't be. The reason... Either your salesman can't read or simply didn't respect my NO SOLICITING sign that is clearly visible on my front door.

In 2024, Freedom Solar still sends unsolicited door to door sales people to our homes and neighborhoods.

Freedom Solar is everything you might want from a solar installation company! They were prompt, thoughtful, timely, patient with my questions, and budget conscious. After the installation they stayed with me through the entire process and made sure that I understood all that was taking place, how to interpret the new data from the app, and how to interact with PGE with the various options. I am not sure what else I could have asked for and am extremely pleased with our purchase.

Excellent service from beginning to end! Freedom Solar were a pleasure to work with - honest people. We installed solar panels with Franklin batteries. It took us a long time to decide which company to go with but we chose Freedom Solar because they gave us great advice in the planning stage, showed patience as we tried to compare systems and different companies and came up with a very competitive price at the end. No overselling! Installation happens in multiple stages but they ‘held our hand’ the whole way! And they were very honest about delays they encountered. They addressed all our quest

Freedom Solar put panels on our roof January, 2024. They were great from start to finish. The installers did careful and aesthetic work. We did not have any easy roof!!. We are seeing the benefits now with our pg&e bill.

What the company says about itself

Taken from its own website. We have not checked any of it, and a sentence on a website is not evidence.

  • Established

“Area residents achieve energy freedom since 2008 Removal and replacement, servicing…”

Its website also mentions licence number, but not in a sentence we can quote cleanly.

Elsewhere

  • It is also reviewed on the Better Business Bureau and Houzz. Worth reading before you sign anything: those are a different crowd, and the complaints that reach the Better Business Bureau rarely reach Google.
  • It posts on Facebook and Instagram. A page that stopped posting years ago tells you something a listing will not.

Who Google shows alongside them

Google’s own “people also viewed” set, in Google’s order. It is Google’s comparison, not ours.

The ones without a link have no page here, either because Google does not categorise them as solar businesses or because we could not match the name to a listing with confidence.

Ordered by how much we can tell you about each, which is not an order of quality. We do not know which of these is better and would not say if we did.

What we don't know

  • The date above is the newest review we hold, which is not necessarily the newest that exists — we hold a large share of Google's reviews, not all of them.
  • We do not verify licences, insurance or bonding. Nothing here has been checked against a state licensing board.
  • We cannot tell you what an installation costs, and we hold nothing about the equipment they fit.
