Its one and two star share is 1 point below the typical installer in California. Across California, 788 of the 1,529 installers whose breakdown Google has published carry a higher share than this one.

The percentages are Google’s own arithmetic over every review it holds, not a sample we assembled. Separately we hold 4 review texts for this company, quoted below. Google publishes review ages rather than dates, so every date here is approximate.

What reviewers said

  • 5★ · around September 2023 · the company replied

I have never dealt with a company that was more meticulous and responsible. Mr. Howe oversaw every detail of the installation from beginning to end. He handled every bit of paperwork, and recommended both an electrician and a roofer and checked their work and made sure I was not overcharged. I would 100% recommend Howe Builders for your solar needs. I was concerned about hiring a large company which would be impersonal and unfamiliar with our neighborhood. I made the right choice. Bill hit all the marks, very knowledgeable, easy going and professional. I have over 25 yrs in Facility Management experience and know quality.

Bill Howe installed solar panels about 2 years ago in Rancho Palos Verdes. He analyzed our power usage from Edison to determine the correct number of panels. He installed all of the panels and associated components quickly and efficiently. He also has cleaned the panels several times since installation at no charge. I highly recommend Howe Builders.

What the company says about itself

Taken from its own website. We have not checked any of it, and a sentence on a website is not evidence.

  • Family owned

“top installer in 90274! Being a small family-owned business located in South Torrance,…”

  • Established

“custom hand painting ceramic tiles since 1986 and looking forward to the artistic…”

Its website also mentions licence number, but not in a sentence we can quote cleanly.

Elsewhere

  • It posts on Facebook. A page that stopped posting years ago tells you something a listing will not.

Ordered by how much we can tell you about each, which is not an order of quality. We do not know which of these is better and would not say if we did.

What we don't know

  • The date above is the newest review we hold, which is not necessarily the newest that exists — we hold a large share of Google's reviews, not all of them.
  • Google publishes no street address for this company, so we cannot say which town it is based in. Rancho Palos Verdes is the area its listing was returned for, not an address we hold.
  • We do not verify licences, insurance or bonding. Nothing here has been checked against a state licensing board.
  • We cannot tell you what an installation costs, and we hold nothing about the equipment they fit.
