Its one and two star share is 3 points above the typical installer in Washington. Across District of Columbia, 6 of the 22 installers whose breakdown Google has published carry a higher share than this one.
The percentages are Google’s own arithmetic over every review it holds, not a sample we assembled. Separately we hold 43 review texts for this company, quoted below. Google publishes review ages rather than dates, so every date here is approximate.

Every company we hold in Washington, on one axis
Each mark is one company we hold in Washington whose Google breakdown has been read, placed by its share of one and two star reviews. Ipsun Solar is the red one. The amber line is the middle of that set, which includes suppliers and maintenance businesses as well as installers.

Had a bad experience with Ipsun. They installed my panels 6 years ago. They put screws in my flat roof to secure the panels but offered a lifetime warranty against water penetrations. However, the screws were not installed correctly and caused leaking into my house in multiple places. IPSUN came out and removed the panels and told me they would repair and replace my panels in 2 months. It took them 7 months to repair the roof and ceiling, but its now 9 months later and they won't even respond to my calls.

Posting publicly to let customers know this company hired a con man as their sales manager. Trevor Sumner has a history of manipulating the solar industry to his advantage while customers and employees pay the price. His cohorts include Kris Sipe, Ben Ganje & Nick Landauer. Google Sunbadger Solar and another Minnesota solar company as well.

Ipsun was an easy decision out of the 3 companies from which I got quotes for solar installations. The level of detail provided in the Ipsun documents prior to signing was far superior, and support afterwards has been outstanding. As a few others have noted Ipsun’s quote may not be the lowest, but for us it was the one that provided the most value in terms of price vs capacity, and their proposal was also the most detailed and transparent. The fact the Ipsun is a B Corp was an added bonus for us as well. Installation was completed in one day, and from initial quote to PTO it took just 76 days

Straight shooters. My situation was unusual in that I wanted to replace an existing system while using components. And then when the utility capped the size of my proposed system, I fought back by filing a complaint. This added more than a half a year to the project, but Ipsun stuck with me. I researched my situation enough that at times I had something to teach Ipsun. But they always listened, never talking down to me. And when it came time to install they delivered as promised, on time. Update: I downgraded them to four stars because my inverter died on March 11, they found out quickly but n

Ipsun is highly recommended! They are very customer oriented. Everyone I worked with to make our solar installation happen — from the initial signing of the contract, drawing plans, site plan review, installation of the panels, follow up inspection, and final close out work — has been timely, kept me informed, and responsive to questions. A special thank you Humza, Andrew, Carl (and Installation Team), Abdul, Cindy, Joe, Herve, and the rest of the team. I was especially impressed with the care Carl took for his team members and their safety. Working in winter weather, through snow and sleet, i

What the company says about itself
Taken from its own website. We have not checked any of it, and a sentence on a website is not evidence.
Warranty
“energy. Plus, our 25+ year hardware warranty ensures the reliability of your solar…”
Years in business
“For solar systems that need to run over 20 years, doing it right, with capable…”
Licensed
“production, our in-house team of licensed electricians and certified solar…”
Its website also mentions financing and free estimate, but not in a sentence we can quote cleanly.
Elsewhere
- It is also reviewed on Yelp and the Better Business Bureau. Worth reading before you sign anything: those are a different crowd, and the complaints that reach the Better Business Bureau rarely reach Google.
- It posts on LinkedIn, Pinterest, Instagram, Facebook and X. A page that stopped posting years ago tells you something a listing will not.

Ordered by how much we can tell you about each, which is not an order of quality. We do not know which of these is better and would not say if we did.
What we don't know
- The date above is the newest review we hold, which is not necessarily the newest that exists — we hold a large share of Google's reviews, not all of them.
- We do not verify licences, insurance or bonding. Nothing here has been checked against a state licensing board.
- We cannot tell you what an installation costs, and we hold nothing about the equipment they fit.
