Its one and two star share is 13 points above the typical installer in Washington. Across District of Columbia, 5 of the 22 installers whose breakdown Google has published carry a higher share than this one.
The percentages are Google’s own arithmetic over every review it holds, not a sample we assembled. Separately we hold 294 review texts for this company, quoted below. Google publishes review ages rather than dates, so every date here is approximate.

I contracted with Sol Systems 10 years ago when I had my solar system installed. At the time I had concerns about the SREC contract I signed but was insured by Sol Systems that i would receive the entire amount of my contract. My contract amount was for $15,560 and to date I have received only $14,360, which is a years worth of SREC income. Now my contract has expired and will not receive the balance of my contract. There is a 6 month lag between when you generate an SREC to the time you are paid, which immediately puts you behind on payments after you sign a contract. Not only can you not get

Horrible service. You cannot speak to anyone via telephone if there is an issue receiving your SRECs. If you email them to resolve your issue, don't hold your breath. Absolutely terrible customer service. If I could post with 0 stars I would.

Sol Systems has good customer communication but spontaniously increased their commission as a percent of the energy my panels generate, so I'm not happy with that since I signed a contract with an understanding of their fee.

Champagne at Sol Systems was immensely helpful in getting our newly revised system under contract. We really appreciated the time and expertise she brought to the task. Her style of personal, caring attention is rare and becoming more rare every day.

It is not possible to speak by phone with anyone at Sol Systems, but that is OK because the customer service via email is fantastic. I worked with Champagne to get my account registered -- she was so responsive, very helpful and super patient. She is definitely an asset to the organization.

I had the pleasure to work with Champagne while choosing which option for our agreement. Champagne was exceedingly knowledgeable about each option, she answered all of my questions and was kind and patient while doing so. She provided crucial advice which led to the right decision for our family. I find contracts to be confusing and stressful. Champagne made this decision process clear and easy, I would highly recommend her as a point of contact.

Topics Google derives from the review text, with how often each appears. A frequent topic is not a good one: “price” turns up in praise and in complaints alike.
What the company says about itself
Taken from its own website. We have not checked any of it, and a sentence on a website is not evidence.
Its website also mentions established, but not in a sentence we can quote cleanly.
Elsewhere
- It is also reviewed on the Better Business Bureau and Yelp. Worth reading before you sign anything: those are a different crowd, and the complaints that reach the Better Business Bureau rarely reach Google.
- It posts on LinkedIn and X. A page that stopped posting years ago tells you something a listing will not.

Ordered by how much we can tell you about each, which is not an order of quality. We do not know which of these is better and would not say if we did.
What we don't know
- The date above is the newest review we hold, which is not necessarily the newest that exists — we hold a large share of Google's reviews, not all of them.
- We do not verify licences, insurance or bonding. Nothing here has been checked against a state licensing board.
- We cannot tell you what an installation costs, and we hold nothing about the equipment they fit.
