Its one and two star share is 2 points below the typical installer in the Albany area. Across New York, 105 of the 247 installers whose breakdown Google has published carry a higher share than this one.

The percentages are Google’s own arithmetic over every review it holds, not a sample we assembled. Separately we hold 74 review texts for this company, quoted below. Google publishes review ages rather than dates, so every date here is approximate.

Each mark is one company we hold in the Albany area whose Google breakdown has been read, placed by its share of one and two star reviews. Lighthouse Solar - NY is the red one. The amber line is the middle of that set, which includes suppliers and maintenance businesses as well as installers.

I would not recommend working with Lighthouse. They quoted me $20k to install a battery backup system that I could buy for $8500 retail. That's gouging.

I reached out to Lighthouse Solar after seeing on their website that they provide installation services in Yonkers. I submitted an inquiry through their online contact form and received a response from Office Manager Angela stating that I was "outside of their installation territory." I followed up with screenshots of their own website, which explicitly states they serve Yonkers, and asked whether there was a specific reason my property fell outside their scope. I never received a response. I don't know whether this is a policy issue, a system error, or something else entirely - but I do know

This company is focused only on the money right in front of them. Not a good sign for customers expecting long-term followthrough. Because they are already booked into next year, the woman who picked up their phone showed zero interest in spending even a single minute building a relationship with a prospective future customer.

We had our solar panels installed by Lighthouse Solar in 2021, and recently discovered that a water stain we had noticed some time ago was actually related to a roof leak near the solar installation. We contacted Lighthouse Solar, explained the situation, and provided photos. From the beginning, they were responsive and willing to investigate the problem rather than simply dismissing it because several years had passed since the original installation. They scheduled a visit, came out to inspect the area, identified the issue, and took care of the repair for us at no cost. We truly appreciate a

A huge shout out to Lighthouse Solar for their work last week installing two 20kWh Enphase batteries as back up for my solar powered home. From beginning to end they were professional, true to their word and kept to their schedules. Their customer service was impeccable - called me whenever something was going to happen - Central Hudson hook up and power off, inspectors coming, etc. Their staff (sales, installers and tech set up) were superb. Clearly at the top of their game, totally familiar with the technology and perfectionists on installation and operations. One very good sign - several of

Straightforward; kept us up to date as tariffs messed up inventory; incredibly quick installation. Great experience!

What the company says about itself

Taken from its own website. We have not checked any of it, and a sentence on a website is not evidence.

  • Warranty

“receive a 25-year limited lifetime warranty. Dedicated to Delivering…”
  • Established

“operated, and in continual operation since 2009, our experienced technicians are…”
  • Insured

“panel technicians are certified and insured to handle your solar panel needs. We…”
  • Licensed

“owners. Our talented team includes licensed electricians, and is certified to…”

Its website also mentions financing and free estimate, but not in a sentence we can quote cleanly.

Elsewhere

  • It is also reviewed on Yelp. Worth reading before you sign anything: those are a different crowd, and the complaints that reach the Better Business Bureau rarely reach Google.
  • It posts on Facebook. A page that stopped posting years ago tells you something a listing will not.

Who Google shows alongside them

Google’s own “people also viewed” set, in Google’s order. It is Google’s comparison, not ours.

The ones without a link have no page here, either because Google does not categorise them as solar businesses or because we could not match the name to a listing with confidence.

What we don't know

  • The date above is the newest review we hold, which is not necessarily the newest that exists — we hold a large share of Google's reviews, not all of them.
  • We do not verify licences, insurance or bonding. Nothing here has been checked against a state licensing board.
  • We cannot tell you what an installation costs, and we hold nothing about the equipment they fit.

Something wrong here? Tell us and a person will read it.
