Its one and two star share is level with the typical installer in the Anaheim area. Across California, 660 of the 1,529 installers whose breakdown Google has published carry a higher share than this one.

The percentages are Google’s own arithmetic over every review it holds, not a sample we assembled. Separately we hold 33 review texts for this company, quoted below. Google publishes review ages rather than dates, so every date here is approximate.

Each mark is one company we hold in the Anaheim area whose Google breakdown has been read, placed by its share of one and two star reviews. OC Solar is the red one. The amber line is the middle of that set, which includes suppliers and maintenance businesses as well as installers.

Here is what you need to know about OC Solar. They sell you the system and they do a good job of installing it, but after that you become a customer of goodleap who you pay your monthly payments to. As soon as you have a problem like I did with the system not working, OC Solar says they are only the installer and you have to deal with Goodleap. With Goodleap you talk to a call center in India and they tell you that even though their system is not working and not producing power, you have to still keep paying them the same monthly payment as if it were a working service. No outage or courtesy c

I have tried several times to contact them about a pending bid for a new breaker box. The phone system cuts me off and email goes unanswered. It seems that this rating is the only thing that they respond to.

Called, they set the account and after that nothing. I tried calling designated number numerous times no feedback. Very odd.

What the company says about itself

Taken from its own website. We have not checked any of it, and a sentence on a website is not evidence.

  • Warranty

“— one point of contact, one warranty. Solar Premium panels engineered for…”
  • Established

    “visit profile → BBB ↗ A+ Accredited since 2017 visit profile → ConsumerAffairs ↗ #1…”
  • Licensed

“Solar Roof, and repairs from a single licensed contractor — one point of contact,…”

Its website also mentions free estimate, better business bureau, bonded, insured and licence number, but not in a sentence we can quote cleanly.

Elsewhere

  • It is also reviewed on ConsumerAffairs, the Better Business Bureau and Yelp. Worth reading before you sign anything: those are a different crowd, and the complaints that reach the Better Business Bureau rarely reach Google.
  • It posts on YouTube, X, LinkedIn, Instagram and Facebook. A page that stopped posting years ago tells you something a listing will not.

Who Google shows alongside them

Google’s own “people also viewed” set, in Google’s order. It is Google’s comparison, not ours.

What we don't know

  • The date above is the newest review we hold, which is not necessarily the newest that exists — we hold a large share of Google's reviews, not all of them.
  • We do not verify licences, insurance or bonding. Nothing here has been checked against a state licensing board.
  • We cannot tell you what an installation costs, and we hold nothing about the equipment they fit.
