Its one and two star share is 4 points below the typical installer in San Jose. Across California, 788 of the 1,529 installers whose breakdown Google has published carry a higher share than this one.

The percentages are Google’s own arithmetic over every review it holds, not a sample we assembled. Separately we hold 6 review texts for this company, quoted below. Google publishes review ages rather than dates, so every date here is approximate.

Every company we hold in San Jose, on one axis

0% rated 1–2★40%

Each mark is one company we hold in San Jose whose Google breakdown has been read, placed by its share of one and two star reviews. Simply Solar is the red one. The amber line is the middle of that set, which includes suppliers and maintenance businesses as well as installers.

The installed our solar panels about 6 years ago and we could not be happier. David Franks was our sales mgr and he was by far the most knowledgeable and patient person we talked to you in regards to getting solar panels. We like the fact that all their workers are in house and not subcontractors and also the fact that they will remove the solar panels and put them back on when are HOA replaces in our roof. Simply solar is simply excellent highly recommend them. Five stars

Yashar and his crew just finished install of a solar+battery system at our house, they did a great job. They were super helpful, patient with all my questions, and went above and beyond to make sure the final result was clean. Thanks y'all!

Very satisfied with the installers. Yashar (foreman), Najeeb and another member of the crew arrived on time, worked hard both days and stayed back late to complete the Solar + Battery install. They were professional, addressed all my questions, cleaned up well. Given that it's a busy season I was pleasantly surprised to get this level of patience and service. Thank you.

Topics Google derives from the review text, with how often each appears. A frequent topic is not a good one: “price” turns up in praise and in complaints alike.

What the company says about itself

Taken from its own website. We have not checked any of it, and a sentence on a website is not evidence.

  • Established

“system, installed by Simply Solar since 2016. They monitor and are great at…”

  • Years in business

“base to our community. We have over 20 years of experience in solar, and in that…”

Its website also mentions warranty and 24/7 availability, but not in a sentence we can quote cleanly.

Elsewhere

  • It is also reviewed on Yelp. Worth reading before you sign anything: those are a different crowd, and the complaints that reach the Better Business Bureau rarely reach Google.
  • It posts on X, LinkedIn, YouTube, Instagram and Facebook. A page that stopped posting years ago tells you something a listing will not.

Ordered by how much we can tell you about each, which is not an order of quality. We do not know which of these is better and would not say if we did.

What we don't know

  • The date above is the newest review we hold, which is not necessarily the newest that exists — we hold a large share of Google's reviews, not all of them.
  • We do not verify licences, insurance or bonding. Nothing here has been checked against a state licensing board.
  • We cannot tell you what an installation costs, and we hold nothing about the equipment they fit.
