Its one and two star share is 2 points above the typical installer in the Santa Cruz area. Across California, 582 of the 1,529 installers whose breakdown Google has published carry a higher share than this one.
The percentages are Google’s own arithmetic over every review it holds, not a sample we assembled. Separately we hold 20 review texts for this company, quoted below. Google publishes review ages rather than dates, so every date here is approximate.
Every company we hold in the Santa Cruz area, on one axis
Each mark is one company we hold in the Santa Cruz area whose Google breakdown has been read, placed by its share of one and two star reviews. Solar Electric Supply, Inc. is the red one. The amber line is the middle of that set, which includes suppliers and maintenance businesses as well as installers.

Scott at the company assumes Cusotmer with Asian first and last name are all scammer. I politely sent an email asking a quote for 8 batteries for our homestead in FL. The email replies were rule and unprofessional. They did not seem to want to address my quote and straight to the question on “ how are you going to pay?” And where do we shop to? I merely asked for a quote so I can discuss with my husband. Anyway, Scott later addresses me as a scammer because I would like to pay with debit card and the mailing address is a ups store mail box since we’ve just purchased the land. It seems like Sco

Scott at Solar Electric Supply gave me outstanding support and advice as I constructed my 14.4KW array for an off grid homestead. After creating my load table and modeling summer and winter pier needs, then PVWATTS to model solar array performance settled on a~14 kw stationary ground mount arrays. Shopping solar panels I chose REC for their technology, longevity, physical load strength, thermal characteristics and began searching for best deals to get them. Here’s the first phase of contact with SES. Scott helped select the family of REC panels. He also knew the particulars of the Sol-Ark inve

If you're going solar, go with Solar Electric Supply. There isn't a more helpful, more fairly priced alternative around. I spent hours on the phone with them – before even spending a penny – learning about solar and how to build a system for my home. I spent a fraction with Solar Electric Supply than I would have spent with any of the companies that quoted me. Expanding my system is a no-brainer considering the accessible pricing.

This post is probably at least a year late but at least this will make it more accurate. I was able to install a 50KW system all on my own because of all the help and guidance that Bill at Solar Electric gave me. The prices, fantastic. My $1,700/mo electric bill is now $600. I will have my system paid off in 5 years or less and the install is total commercial quality. Probably a bit over engineered (my engineers fault, not SES) but that's OK. My biggest worry with SES was parting with money via wire, before I really knew them but they were 1st class all the way. Everything arrived absolutely p

What the company says about itself
Taken from its own website. We have not checked any of it, and a sentence on a website is not evidence.
Established
“and remote power. Made in the USA Since 1996. 12 / 24 / 48V DC System Voltages…”
Licensed
“and a dealer program built for licensed professionals. Volume discounts &…”
Its website also mentions warranty and free estimate, but not in a sentence we can quote cleanly.

Ordered by how much we can tell you about each, which is not an order of quality. We do not know which of these is better and would not say if we did.
What we don't know
- The date above is the newest review we hold, which is not necessarily the newest that exists — we hold a large share of Google's reviews, not all of them.
- We do not verify licences, insurance or bonding. Nothing here has been checked against a state licensing board.
- We cannot tell you what an installation costs, and we hold nothing about the equipment they fit.
