Its one and two star share is 3 points above the typical installer in Portland. Across Oregon, 37 of the 106 installers whose breakdown Google has published carry a higher share than this one.

The percentages are Google’s own arithmetic over every review it holds, not a sample we assembled. Separately we hold 18 review texts for this company, quoted below. Google publishes review ages rather than dates, so every date here is approximate.

I believe that solar energy is important, and I am glad that Andrew is providing that service. However, when I developed a leak in my roof after the installation, he came by to troubleshoot. He spent a half hour applying cauking, and then wanted to charge me $200 for that service, for a problem his company created. He also told me that "that's why when you purchased the system I advised you to inspect the the roof every year and apply caulking where needed". I don't recall him saying that, and there is no way I would ever climb up on my sloped roof. The leak recurred despite his efforts, so I

This is our second project with Andrew K. He has been great to work with; knowledgeable, straight answers, prompt and most importantly meticulous and a detailed oriented worker/owner. Recent project entailed installing 9 Sunstar panels to provide solar heating for our in ground pool. I expect many years of service and a comfortable pool….as long as I can keep the squirrels at bay. Highly recommend SES.

Five Stars for Andrew and his company! Our original roof-top swimming pool solar system was put in nearly 25 years ago and has saved us countless dollars over many years not having to heat our pool with gas. With a system that old and our roof in need of replacement, we recently called Andrew. He was very knowledgeable about the options and forthcoming about the costs of each. In the end, we opted for all new panels and new controller. Andrew took the initiative to work directly with our roofer to coordinate the work and layout of roof vents which allowed him to increase significantly our foot

Andrew is the best! I maintain my older solar pool heater myself but came across a riser leak near the header that I couldn't plug. Andrew called me right back and provided the solution (#10 stainless screw wrapped in Teflon). Worked like a charm. Thank you! I'll call you when we're ready to replace our panels!

What the company says about itself

Taken from its own website. We have not checked any of it, and a sentence on a website is not evidence.

Its website also mentions established, but not in a sentence we can quote cleanly.

    Elsewhere

    • It is also reviewed on the Better Business Bureau and Yelp. Worth reading before you sign anything: those are a different crowd, and the complaints that reach the Better Business Bureau rarely reach Google.

    Who Google shows alongside them

Google’s own “people also viewed” set, in Google’s order. It is Google’s comparison, not ours.

The ones without a link have no page here, either because Google does not categorise them as solar businesses or because we could not match the name to a listing with confidence.

Ordered by how much we can tell you about each, which is not an order of quality. We do not know which of these is better and would not say if we did.

    What we don't know

    • The date above is the newest review we hold, which is not necessarily the newest that exists — we hold a large share of Google's reviews, not all of them.
    • We do not verify licences, insurance or bonding. Nothing here has been checked against a state licensing board.
    • We cannot tell you what an installation costs, and we hold nothing about the equipment they fit.
