Its one and two star share is level with the typical installer in the Orlando area. Across Florida, 327 of the 675 installers whose breakdown Google has published carry a higher share than this one.

The percentages are Google’s own arithmetic over every review it holds, not a sample we assembled. Separately we hold 526 review texts for this company, quoted below. Google publishes review ages rather than dates, so every date here is approximate.

Each mark is one company we hold in the Orlando area whose Google breakdown has been read, placed by its share of one and two star reviews. Solar Source is the red one. The amber line is the middle of that set, which includes suppliers and maintenance businesses as well as installers.

Not very with their service. The PVC for the pool solar they installed leaked at multiple places. They charge 199.00 for the trip and quoted over 2k to replace the PVC joints and 5k to repipe. Took my business elsewhere for a fraction at the cost.

They do good work, but they charged me 400 bucks to replace two PVC elbows and a small leak in the solar panel tubing. There is a previous attachment point that I’m concerned is leaking that was created several years ago by solar source, and it appears it was partially installed with one screw and then was moved probably because it was determined it didn’t hit a truss. See the picture. It’s exactly the same footprint profile of the clamp right next to it. Well, they told me that that’s not what it is and it’s the spacer that you see there that may have slipped down, but that’s not what it is.

Service was great BUT, Prices for parts used (Black PVC Components) was truly outrageous. Get a written, firm estimate before you agree to the work.

2024 - BJ Upshaw was a really great representative for Solar Source. He performed work for me on the roof, including checking for leaks, adding caulking where needed, and following up with another Solar Source associate, Cody Workman, for additional assistance. He was professional and respectful, a good communicator, and all around pleasure to do business with. Highly recommend! 6.10.2026 - This is an addition to my earlier review. BJ Upshaw just repaired a new leak and once again did an outstanding job! Bad weather was threatening, barely giving him enough time to do the work, but he was thor

The 2 man team was great to work with on the removal of our water solar panels. They will efficient and worked well together. Took great care of all the items removed and stacked them neatly in our garage as requested.

The technician was great! Friendly, knowledgeable, polite and helpful. He fixed the problem and explained it so I understood it. Defiantly will use them again.

What the company says about itself

Taken from its own website. We have not checked any of it, and a sentence on a website is not evidence.

  • 24/7 availability

“anywhere in Florida. We offer 24/7 customer support to handle any…”
  • Established

“in lower energy costs today. Leaders Since 1984, Solar Source has led the way for…”
  • Insured

“to test for advanced positions. Insured for your protection. We are covered…”
  • Licensed

“Founded in 1984, Solar Source is a licensed solar contractor specializing in…”

Its website also mentions free estimate and licence number, but not in a sentence we can quote cleanly.

Elsewhere

  • It is also reviewed on ConsumerAffairs and Yelp. Worth reading before you sign anything: those are a different crowd, and the complaints that reach the Better Business Bureau rarely reach Google.
  • It posts on LinkedIn, Instagram, X and Facebook. A page that stopped posting years ago tells you something a listing will not.

Who Google shows alongside them

Google’s own “people also viewed” set, in Google’s order. It is Google’s comparison, not ours.

The ones without a link have no page here, either because Google does not categorise them as solar businesses or because we could not match the name to a listing with confidence.

What we don't know

  • The date above is the newest review we hold, which is not necessarily the newest that exists — we hold a large share of Google's reviews, not all of them.
  • We do not verify licences, insurance or bonding. Nothing here has been checked against a state licensing board.
  • We cannot tell you what an installation costs, and we hold nothing about the equipment they fit.

Something wrong here? Tell us and a person will read it.
