Its one and two star share is 1 point below the typical installer in California. Across California, 788 of the 1,529 installers whose breakdown Google has published carry a higher share than this one.

The percentages are Google’s own arithmetic over every review it holds, not a sample we assembled. Separately we hold 3 review texts for this company, quoted below. Google publishes review ages rather than dates, so every date here is approximate.

After doing tons of research and talking with 5 different solar companies. The Solar Surfer was able to explain all of my proposals. He gave me a fair and honest evaluation. After the sale was complete, they kept me posted every step of the way. Not only did they deliver as promised my installation was done in 5 hours. I highly recommend.

After company after company of no shows and bad customer service, we finally found a home with Shane and The Solar Surfer. Shane was on top of the whole process, responsive and was able to answer all of our questions knowledgeably. Ultimately, we were able to save money and make a smaller footprint on the environment with The Solar Surfer! Thank you, Shane! You're amazing!!!!

  • It is also reviewed on Yelp. Worth reading before you sign anything: those are a different crowd, and the complaints that reach the Better Business Bureau rarely reach Google.

Ordered by how much we can tell you about each, which is not an order of quality. We do not know which of these is better and would not say if we did.

What we don't know

  • The date above is the newest review we hold, which is not necessarily the newest that exists — we hold a large share of Google's reviews, not all of them.
  • We found nothing on a website for this company that states a warranty, a licence or how long it has traded.
  • Google publishes no street address for this company, so we cannot say which town it is based in. Soquel is the area its listing was returned for, not an address we hold.
  • We do not verify licences, insurance or bonding. Nothing here has been checked against a state licensing board.
  • We cannot tell you what an installation costs, and we hold nothing about the equipment they fit.
