Its one and two star share is level with the typical installer in Massachusetts. Across Massachusetts, 98 of the 198 installers whose breakdown Google has published carry a higher share than this one.

The percentages are Google’s own arithmetic over every review it holds, not a sample we assembled. Separately we hold 210 review texts for this company, quoted below. Google publishes review ages rather than dates, so every date here is approximate.

It's up to you if you want to work with a company that bad mouth's another. Here's a direct quote from an email I recieved. I'm taking out the competitor's name. And BTW, they did not even come out for a site visit. We all are scratching our heads as to how XXXXXXX could come up with the inflated production numbers they are showing you on paper. It is known in the industry that their estimates are typically higher than ours or PV2 but this is an exceptionally high estimate given the tree coverage on the property. I understand the allure to proceed with a company showing you the highest product

I called and was sent straight to voice-mail. If I'm out of power I would prefer to speak to an actual person.

I need to write a review since I based my decision on the 5 star reviews. We went with this company since it was local. It started out fine. We met with the salesperson and he was a lot better than others we met with. We decided initially to do the battery storage then thought about it and decided to not do it. Since 1999 when we first moved in we have lost power for a significant amount of time one time, and we did not feel it was worth it. It was supposed to be changed in our contract. Then we waited for installation. It took several months to hear that we were moving forward. Initially we c

Very pleased with our experience with Valley Solar from beginning to end. Shortly after installation, I noticed on my solar app that I wasn’t getting full production. They came to my house the next day and discovered that one of the panels had a slight technical glitch. They replaced it at no charge and everything has been working smoothly ever since. Highly recommend Valley Solar.

We have had Valley Solar panels on our garage for several years and have loved the savings. We recently noticed that one of the panels was not working. I called the office and left a message. 5 minutes later I was called back. The very next day they sent a tech out to fix the small electrical issue with a connector and it was fixed! What amazing service. Everyone who works for them are polite and professional. I highly recommend them!

Valley Solar installed my system last summer and it has worked great. But yesterday a freak power outage knocked out my inverter - but Valley's service guy, Ryan, was here the next day and replaced it! Great work! Couldn't ask for more.

What the company says about itself

Taken from its own website. We have not checked any of it, and a sentence on a website is not evidence.

  • Financing

“guide you through transparent solar financing options, so you can choose the path that…”
  • Warranty

“with precision modeling and ends with guaranteed performance – backed by the integrity…”
  • 24/7 availability

    “a noticeable loss in production. 24/7 real-time performance monitoring…”
  • Established

“across Western Massachusetts since 2015, completing thousands of successful…”

Its website also mentions licensed, but not in a sentence we can quote cleanly.

Elsewhere

  • It is also reviewed on Yelp. Worth reading before you sign anything: those are a different crowd, and the complaints that reach the Better Business Bureau rarely reach Google.
  • It posts on Instagram, LinkedIn and Facebook. A page that stopped posting years ago tells you something a listing will not.

What we don't know

  • The date above is the newest review we hold, which is not necessarily the newest that exists — we hold a large share of Google's reviews, not all of them.
  • We do not verify licences, insurance or bonding. Nothing here has been checked against a state licensing board.
  • We cannot tell you what an installation costs, and we hold nothing about the equipment they fit.
