Its one and two star share is 1 point above the typical installer in California. Across California, 727 of the 1,529 installers whose breakdown Google has published carry a higher share than this one.

The percentages are Google’s own arithmetic over every review it holds, not a sample we assembled. Separately we hold 25 review texts for this company, quoted below. Google publishes review ages rather than dates, so every date here is approximate.

Stay away from Cali Energy. The “work” done is well below industry standard in every way, inefficiently laid out on the wall and in such a way that will cause a domino effect of faulty issues to tie to the solar panels. Cali Energy also caused significant damage to our home and walked away from the damages without contacting us and/or returning first thing in the morning to attempt to correct and repair. The literally left a hole in our exterior wall; exposing the electrical panel, wires, insulation and infrastructure of our home. Since I work in the field of architecture, we had an electrical

Cali Energy is a decent company overall. In the past they had good and responsive dispatchers, and communication was much better. Recently, it feels like the dispatch team is no longer as available, which makes things slower and more difficult. Not a bad company, but customer support has declined compared to before.

Cali Energy did an excellent job replacing my roof! I was very pleased with both the crew and the office staff. They kept me updated throughout the project and even sent me drone photos showing the work in progress. Everything turned out great. I highly recommend Cali Energy!

I recently built an ADU on my property in West Hills and was required to add solar as part of the project. I started looking for a contractor and got quotes from several solar companies around the Valley. …

I don’t usually write reviews, but Cali Energy earned this one. Before making a decision, I got several quotes and compared different companies. Cali Energy gave us the best offer overall, with competitive pricing and a straightforward …

What the company says about itself

Taken from its own website. We have not checked any of it, and a sentence on a website is not evidence.

  • Family owned

“starts with the people on your roof Family-owned, based in Northridge, working the…”
  • Established

“working the Valley's roofs since 2017. Two thousand homes later, our own…”
  • Licence number

“roofing and electrical run under CSLB license #1032379 (B, C-10, C-39); ADU builds run under…”

Its website also mentions warranty, free estimate and licensed, but not in a sentence we can quote cleanly.

Elsewhere

  • It is also reviewed on ConsumerAffairs and Yelp. Worth reading before you sign anything: those are a different crowd, and the complaints that reach the Better Business Bureau rarely reach Google.
  • It posts on Facebook and Instagram. A page that stopped posting years ago tells you something a listing will not.

Who Google shows alongside them

Google’s own “people also viewed” set, in Google’s order. It is Google’s comparison, not ours.

The ones without a link have no page here, either because Google does not categorise them as solar businesses or because we could not match the name to a listing with confidence.

What we don't know

  • The date above is the newest review we hold, which is not necessarily the newest that exists — we hold a large share of Google's reviews, not all of them.
  • We do not verify licences, insurance or bonding. Nothing here has been checked against a state licensing board.
  • We cannot tell you what an installation costs, and we hold nothing about the equipment they fit.

Something wrong here? Tell us and a person will read it.
