Its one and two star share is 1 point below the typical installer in California. Across California, 788 of the 1,529 installers whose breakdown Google has published carry a higher share than this one.

The percentages are Google’s own arithmetic over every review it holds, not a sample we assembled. Separately we hold 8 review texts for this company, quoted below. Google publishes review ages rather than dates, so every date here is approximate.

A coldwell solar company truck swerved around me and sped up to get in front of me in a zipper merge today on a small road in Merced. I gave plenty of notice with my blinker so it was definitely intentional and completely dangerous and unprofessional. Update to review: I really appreciate Perry at Coldwell reaching out to me to resolve this issue and talking with me to make sure that they could discuss safety with their team. I appreciate a company that resolves things and is safe and responsible. I don't want my review to reflect poorly on an entire company for one persons wrong actions so I

Super excited to be work with Coldwell Solar team on our next solar project. Check out their community solar program and the renewable solar credits. Huge opportunities to save on energy costs.

Update: After posting this review, I was contacted directly by Coldwell Solar's president, Sean, who assigned a team to work on our behalf to get the issues addressed. Coldwell has done an outstanding job of working through some very complex issues and has secured replacement solar panels and inverters that had failed within the warranty period. They've also been diligent in getting an installation team in to get the new parts installed before the long and productive sunny and hot season begins, and they've flown drones over our facility to pinpoint the failed components to ensure everything i

Coldwell Solar installed two arrays for us. The whole process went extremely smooth and the systems are working great.

Topics Google derives from the review text, with how often each appears. A frequent topic is not a good one: “price” turns up in praise and in complaints alike.

Elsewhere

  • It is also reviewed on Yelp. Worth reading before you sign anything: those are a different crowd, and the complaints that reach the Better Business Bureau rarely reach Google.

What we don't know

  • The date above is the newest review we hold, which is not necessarily the newest that exists — we hold a large share of Google's reviews, not all of them.
  • We found nothing on a website for this company that states a warranty, a licence or how long it has traded.
  • We do not verify licences, insurance or bonding. Nothing here has been checked against a state licensing board.
  • We cannot tell you what an installation costs, and we hold nothing about the equipment they fit.
