Its one and two star share is 16 points above the typical installer in District of Columbia. Across District of Columbia, 4 of the 22 installers whose breakdown Google has published carry a higher share than this one.

The percentages are Google’s own arithmetic over every review it holds, not a sample we assembled. Separately we hold 6 review texts for this company, quoted below. Google publishes review ages rather than dates, so every date here is approximate.

Each mark is one company we hold in District of Columbia whose Google breakdown has been read, placed by its share of one and two star reviews. Greenscape Energy is the red one. The amber line is the middle of that set, which includes suppliers and maintenance businesses as well as installers.

I had solar panels installed through Greenscape using government funds (dc free solar), and the experience has been extremely disappointing. The installation took nearly 6 months, then 3 months to get it on the grid (for which they blamed Pepco) and a year later, the system is still not functioning, even after countless emails and phone calls asking for it to be fixed. Greenscape’s customer service reps talk very nicely and promise to resolve issues, but those promises never materialize, and there’s been no follow-through, denial, and zero accountabilty. What a waste of tax payer money and hug

Greenscape Energy is amazing to work with from start to finish. They electrified two units in our building and installed solar panels for the entire building. I can't say enough great things about Tony and Tyree We also had issues with one of the a/c units and they came out and fixed it and took care of it. I highly recommend working with them, they are the best in the business. Go Greenscape Energy!

My initial contact with Greenscape was nothing but positive. My conversations with their Solar Advisor (Frank) inspired confidence that everything would be installed to my satisfaction. The actual installation was outstanding from start to finish - the solar materials were delivered on the scheduled day and the electricians started at the scheduled time on the scheduled day. The on-site project manager, was very knowledgeable, professional, extremely patient in answering all my questions, and diligent in keeping me informed of the progress of the installation. The installation was finished at

Elsewhere

  • It is also reviewed on Yelp and the Better Business Bureau. Worth reading before you sign anything: those are a different crowd, and the complaints that reach the Better Business Bureau rarely reach Google.
  • It posts on Facebook and X. A page that stopped posting years ago tells you something a listing will not.

Who Google shows alongside them

Google’s own “people also viewed” set, in Google’s order. It is Google’s comparison, not ours.

The ones without a link have no page here, either because Google does not categorise them as solar businesses or because we could not match the name to a listing with confidence.

What we don't know

  • The date above is the newest review we hold, which is not necessarily the newest that exists — we hold a large share of Google's reviews, not all of them.
  • We do not verify licences, insurance or bonding. Nothing here has been checked against a state licensing board.
  • We cannot tell you what an installation costs, and we hold nothing about the equipment they fit.
