Its one and two star share is 3 points above the typical installer in the Buffalo area. Across New York, 90 of the 247 installers whose breakdown Google has published carry a higher share than this one.

The percentages are Google’s own arithmetic over every review it holds, not a sample we assembled. Separately we hold 25 review texts for this company, quoted below. Google publishes review ages rather than dates, so every date here is approximate.

Each mark is one company we hold in the Buffalo area whose Google breakdown has been read, placed by its share of one and two star reviews. Hytech Home is the red one. The amber line is the middle of that set, which includes suppliers and maintenance businesses as well as installers.

Avoid this company at all costs if you care about your solar system. The level of incompetence I experienced was unbelievable. From the person answering the phone to the service department and the technician who came to my home, the entire process was frustrating and unprofessional. After they worked on my system, I was left with even more problems than I had before. I still don't know whether the original array issue was resolved because they apparently damaged my IQ Gateway during the visit. Despite multiple attempts to contact them, they have failed to return my calls or respond to my messa

I had a home energy assessment completed through the NYSERDA EmPower+ program all the way back in early April. This was the company that took on my project, and they have been a complete nightmare to deal with since. I wanted to get quotes for insulation and upgrading my home to heat pumps, but they are severely incompetent and completely unable to call back with updates, estimates, or timelines. Every single time I call to follow up, I get talked to death on the phone and promised a follow-up call that never happens. Whenever I ask for a supervisor or whoever they need to get me in touch with

We had HYTEC come to un-install our tesla solar panels as we were getting work done to our house. We also have 3 tesla batteries. The guys who came turned off the entire system (panels and batteries) which voided the warranty on the batteries. This was Franni's response "To remove the solar panels safely, it is standard procedure to shut the system, which may include turning off the main power and associated equipment. This is necessary to ensure the safety of both the technicians and the property during the removal process. That said, Hytech was contracted solely for the removal of the solar

Great job on the solar, looks good, works good. Ask for Sandra if you want one of the most responsive, professional, and truly caring experiences. Also - @hytech - give her a raise!

David Neiger was very professional and helpful. Anthony and John did a very good job and were very personable.

Who Google shows alongside them

Google’s own “people also viewed” set, in Google’s order. It is Google’s comparison, not ours.

The ones without a link have no page here, either because Google does not categorise them as solar businesses or because we could not match the name to a listing with confidence.

What we don't know

  • The date above is the newest review we hold, which is not necessarily the newest that exists — we hold a large share of Google's reviews, not all of them.
  • We found nothing on a website for this company that states a warranty, a licence or how long it has traded.
  • We do not verify licences, insurance or bonding. Nothing here has been checked against a state licensing board.
  • We cannot tell you what an installation costs, and we hold nothing about the equipment they fit.
