Its one and two star share is 7 points above the typical installer in Anaheim. Across California, 424 of the 1,529 installers whose breakdown Google has published carry a higher share than this one.

The percentages are Google’s own arithmetic over every review it holds, not a sample we assembled. Separately we hold 10 review texts for this company, quoted below. Google publishes review ages rather than dates, so every date here is approximate.

Each mark is one company we hold in Anaheim whose Google breakdown has been read, placed by its share of one and two star reviews. Ilum Solar is the red one. The amber line is the middle of that set, which includes suppliers and maintenance businesses as well as installers.

So we recently moved to Moreno Valley & was recommended solar by a family friend, fast forward to now, we have illum and it’s been a nightmare with this solar, at first customer service was good but after you complete and get installation you’re basically on your own and they are no longer responsive. i honestly regret getting solar and wish i could refund 😭. worst investment i made and its our first one lol

Oh my goodness.... Ilum is seriously the BEST solar company HANDS DOWN!!!! Joe Vazquez is so awesome and super knowledgeable and so so helpful! We had a million questions and Joe was so kind and patient with us. He explained everything so well and always returned our calls. We have had solar for many years now and we couldn't be happier. Ilum made the transition very easy and less stressful for us. We honestly couldn't be happier with Ilum Solar. If you're considering solar, please do yourself a huge favor and call Joe Vazquez at Ilum. You will not regret it!!!!

Had solar panels installed two years ago and everything is working great. Reyna from this office had really turned this project into a First Class operation. Everything that was promised was completed on time. Highly recommended any solar project from THIS office.

Have had solar installed by Illum for a couple of years now and the experience has been excellent. Worked with a few companies prior to meeting Joe and his team and Illum got it right. They took the time to understand not only my current needs but future needs with electric vehicles and power usage. They designed a system that practically makes my usage net zero with the exception of fees and unpredictable weather. The installation was super fast to include the updating of my full electric panel and the only delay was the actual power company. Not to mention i own my solar system and dont have

What the company says about itself

Taken from its own website. We have not checked any of it, and a sentence on a website is not evidence.

  • Warranty

“have a BBB rating of A+ and a 25 year warranty on the work we complete. Our Vision:…”

Elsewhere

  • It is also reviewed on Yelp. Worth reading before you sign anything: those are a different crowd, and the complaints that reach the Better Business Bureau rarely reach Google.
  • It posts on YouTube, LinkedIn, Instagram and Facebook. A page that stopped posting years ago tells you something a listing will not.

Ordered by how much we can tell you about each, which is not an order of quality. We do not know which of these is better and would not say if we did.

What we don't know

  • The date above is the newest review we hold, which is not necessarily the newest that exists — we hold a large share of Google's reviews, not all of them.
  • We do not verify licences, insurance or bonding. Nothing here has been checked against a state licensing board.
  • We cannot tell you what an installation costs, and we hold nothing about the equipment they fit.
