Its one and two star share is 19 points above the typical installer in Denver. Across Colorado, 25 of the 216 installers whose breakdown Google has published carry a higher share than this one.

The percentages are Google’s own arithmetic over every review it holds, not a sample we assembled. Separately we hold 487 review texts for this company, quoted below. Google publishes review ages rather than dates, so every date here is approximate.

Each mark is one company we hold in Denver whose Google breakdown has been read, placed by its share of one and two star reviews. ION Solar - Colorado is the red one. The amber line is the middle of that set, which includes suppliers and maintenance businesses as well as installers.

Update: After all the mishaps and Ion tech completed the installation and it passed inspection. For the past 3 1/2 months we haven’t had any problems and the battery backup is working great. Ion Solar still hasn’t fixed their incomplete battery backup install mess up. The same incompetent tech came out for the third time today and still didn’t finish the job. This install FAILED the city inspection and it’s still not complete. This was supposed to be up and running at the beginning of December. This is after two no shows from this same tech! No one can give me an answer on why this tech can ju

Constantly calling me, and texting me asking for a Carolyn. Have asked every time for them to remove my number and they won’t. Scammy business if you ask me.

Ion charges $250 every time they send a technician to your site to fix any problem. Watch out for what you are signing for. i paid for service on 8/3, and they were supposed to come to visit today at 1 pm on 8/6, and now I am getting a call that they can't because they have other important appointments to attend and they can attend only on 8/14. They are collecting payment for the service in advance, assuming the customer won't pay afterward, and then making the customer wait of their own free will.

During the installation the ground part broke two items and never said a word but when I found one then one said he was sorry. I was told that they would need access to the WiFi and they said no. We got the inspection passed. I got a call and was asked to try to get the solar on line and had trouble with a toggle switch so now I wait a week for someone to come and look at it, I could be using solar but I can’t. I was also told I could see how good our solar was doing and he was going to come back and help me with the setup, I haven’t seen him since.

The sales rep was very thorough in explaining everything. The installation crew was very efficient...they installed sixteen (16) panels in four (4) hours! The electrician, Peter, was great with his instructions as to how things worked and what to expect in the future.

Topics Google derives from the review text, with how often each appears. A frequent topic is not a good one: “price” turns up in praise and in complaints alike.

What the company says about itself

Taken from its own website. We have not checked any of it, and a sentence on a website is not evidence.

  • Financing

“utility rates, rate increases, and financing options. Savings estimated here assumes…”

Its website also mentions warranty, free estimate, established, better business bureau and licensed, but not in a sentence we can quote cleanly.

Elsewhere

  • It is also reviewed on the Better Business Bureau. Worth reading before you sign anything: those are a different crowd, and the complaints that reach the Better Business Bureau rarely reach Google.
  • It posts on X, LinkedIn, Instagram and Facebook. A page that stopped posting years ago tells you something a listing will not.

Who Google shows alongside them

Google’s own “people also viewed” set, in Google’s order. It is Google’s comparison, not ours.

The ones without a link have no page here, either because Google does not categorise them as solar businesses or because we could not match the name to a listing with confidence.

Ordered by how much we can tell you about each, which is not an order of quality. We do not know which of these is better and would not say if we did.

What we don't know

  • The date above is the newest review we hold, which is not necessarily the newest that exists — we hold a large share of Google's reviews, not all of them.
  • We do not verify licences, insurance or bonding. Nothing here has been checked against a state licensing board.
  • We cannot tell you what an installation costs, and we hold nothing about the equipment they fit.
