Its one and two star share is 2 points below the typical installer in the Minneapolis area. Across Minnesota, 28 of the 68 installers whose breakdown Google has published carry a higher share than this one.

The percentages are Google’s own arithmetic over every review it holds, not a sample we assembled. Separately we hold 91 review texts for this company, quoted below. Google publishes review ages rather than dates, so every date here is approximate.

Each mark is one company we hold in the Minneapolis area whose Google breakdown has been read, placed by its share of one and two star reviews. iSolar is the red one. The amber line is the middle of that set, which includes suppliers and maintenance businesses as well as installers.

They “worked” on a quote for me for several weeks. Then I got a text requesting I do some video conferencing thing to get the results. I asked them to just send a document. Crickets. Texted them again. More crickets. Waste of (luckily not too much) of my time.

Local company. Followed up with a phone call when I had questions. The price-point for a residential project puts solar panels beyond most homeowners budget. Hopefully, this will change in the future.

I've been really happy with iSolar. Back when I was shopping for a solar installer in 2022, their sales presentation and overall way of working stood out from the rest, straightforward, no pressure, just a clear breakdown of what I'd be getting. That's what sold me. They were easy to work with and adjusted without complaint to my needs. The install itself was easy. 30 Q Cell 400W panels with Enphase IQ8 microinverters, 12 kW system, and the crew got it done with minimal disruption. It's been running smoothly since, producing right around what they projected. LOVE the ease of the system! Recent

We have had the pleasure to work with iSolar a couple of times now, and our respect, and even affection for this group of fine individuals has grown-and-grown. As consumers, we have to be careful these days to properly separate and push aside the profiteers, in order to find companies like iSolar, companies who are locally owned, ethical, provide exceptional value, believe in what they are doing, and who stand behind their work. The folks at iSolar are all of this and more, and our experience with them couldn't have been better. For their sake, and even more for yours, you should make haste in

I usually don’t make a practice of submitting product or service reviews, but in the case of iSolar I am compelled to make an exception. Stellar!.....is the first word that comes to my mind. From the first contact with the sales rep to the project completion, the experience has been beyond my expectations, and frankly beyond any service experience I can recall. To start, sales was prepared with a thorough presentation describing the company, the product, and the process. The sales rep was very accommodating to several course changes I made along the way concerning the solar system configuratio

What the company says about itself

Taken from its own website. We have not checked any of it, and a sentence on a website is not evidence.

  • Financing

“Do you do financing? Yes — financing options plus help with every incentive you…”
  • Family owned

“86 Google reviews Minnesota’s family-owned solar pro Power your home or business…”
  • Established

“4.9 on Google 86 reviews, same team since 2019 Certified & accredited Trained…”
  • Better Business Bureau

“BBB A+ Accredited Accredited with an A+ rating — vet us before you call…”

Its website also mentions veteran owned, warranty, free estimate and licensed, but not in a sentence we can quote cleanly.

Elsewhere

  • It is also reviewed on Yelp. Worth reading before you sign anything: those are a different crowd, and the complaints that reach the Better Business Bureau rarely reach Google.
  • It posts on TikTok, YouTube, Instagram and Facebook. A page that stopped posting years ago tells you something a listing will not.

Who Google shows alongside them

Google’s own “people also viewed” set, in Google’s order. It is Google’s comparison, not ours.

The ones without a link have no page here, either because Google does not categorise them as solar businesses or because we could not match the name to a listing with confidence.

What we don't know

  • The date above is the newest review we hold, which is not necessarily the newest that exists — we hold a large share of Google's reviews, not all of them.
  • We do not verify licences, insurance or bonding. Nothing here has been checked against a state licensing board.
  • We cannot tell you what an installation costs, and we hold nothing about the equipment they fit.

Something wrong here? Tell us and a person will read it.
