Johnson Solar - San Diego County's Best Veteran Owned Solar Installation Company

Each mark is one company we hold in San Diego whose Google breakdown has been read, placed by its share of one and two star reviews. Johnson Solar - San Diego County's Best Veteran Owned Solar Installation Company is the red one. The amber line is the middle of that set, which includes suppliers and maintenance businesses as well as installers.

May 2023: Bad experience with their roofing sub-contractor. Very poor communication from the roofer to schedule the job. They also chose a rainy day to do the job and left the job with half the shingles done. Water started leaking into the house and no help or response from the roofer/solar team until later to fix the damage. Solar itself was OK, but poor communication on when and what would be done. Wouldn’t work with them again!

We’ve had plenty of contractors at our house over the years, and this was honestly one of the smoother experiences. The office staff stayed responsive, the project manager followed through on what he promised, and the installation crew worked hard without cutting corners. I liked that they explained what they were doing instead of assuming we already understood everything. There was one small cosmetic issue with wiring placement near the garage, but they returned quickly and fixed it without making excuses. Since the system went live, we’ve already noticed a major reduction in electricity cost

Wow, if you want a friendly, knowledgeable solar company, look no further than Johnson Solar. First of all, he was the least expensive of all the quotes I received. The procedure was expeditious from quote to final inspection. You will deal directly with the owner on everything. I could not be happier with the installations of the roof panels and batteries. Love the new system and the ability to say goodbye to outrageous utility bills. Thank you Clinton and your team for a fantastic job!

I sincerely appreciate Clinton and his team for completing my solar and Tesla battery installation under a tight time constraint, ensuring it was finished before the end of the year to meet the tax credit eligibility deadline. Clinton was true to his word, confident in getting the job done in a timely manner, and went the extra mile to guide me through the solar battery rebate process. The work was completed professionally, and I couldn’t be happier with my decision to go with Johnson Solar.

Topics Google derives from the review text, with how often each appears. A frequent topic is not a good one: “price” turns up in praise and in complaints alike.

Taken from its own website. We have not checked any of it, and a sentence on a website is not evidence.

“layout and quality workmanship Veteran Owned & Operated (Honest, Trustworthy,…”

Its website also mentions years in business and licence number, but not in a sentence we can quote cleanly.

• It posts on LinkedIn. A page that stopped posting years ago tells you something a listing will not.

Google’s own “people also viewed” set, in Google’s order. It is Google’s comparison, not ours.

The ones without a link have no page here, either because Google does not categorise them as solar businesses or because we could not match the name to a listing with confidence.

Ordered by how much we can tell you about each, which is not an order of quality. We do not know which of these is better and would not say if we did.

• —The date above is the newest review we hold, which is not necessarily the newest that exists — we hold a large share of Google's reviews, not all of them.
• —Google publishes no street address for this company, so we cannot say which town it is based in. San Diego is the area its listing was returned for, not an address we hold.
• —We do not verify licences, insurance or bonding. Nothing here has been checked against a state licensing board.
• —We cannot tell you what an installation costs, and we hold nothing about the equipment they fit.
