Its one and two star share is 13 points above the typical installer in Seattle. Across Washington, 12 of the 99 installers whose breakdown Google has published carry a higher share than this one.

The percentages are Google’s own arithmetic over every review it holds, not a sample we assembled. Separately we hold 11 review texts for this company, quoted below. Google publishes review ages rather than dates, so every date here is approximate.

Each mark is one company we hold in Seattle whose Google breakdown has been read, placed by its share of one and two star reviews. NW Wind & Solar is the red one. The amber line is the middle of that set, which includes suppliers and maintenance businesses as well as installers.

Well… we LOVED our experience with Northwest Wind and Solar 4 years ago when we had solar installed at our residence, but I’m not sure about the company who took over… About 2 years ago, we had an inverter go bad. The company was still Northwest Wind and Solar at that time. I had no idea, but they were monitoring my solar production and actually let me know within 2 days of it going offline that I had an issue. Incredible! They had someone come down within a couple days and replace the inverter and got us going, easy peasy! Lately, I have not been checking my Solaredge app as it has been sligh

After having being acquired by Ozz Electric, they are doing everything to avoid supporting NW Wind and Solar residential installations.

No longer in business. New owner only does "commercial" installs. Will honor warranty. I contacted them to add battery backup.

I researched a lot of companies and got several bids before settling on NW Wind and Solar. Their bid was on the lower end, and the experience was positive throughout. They showed up when they said they would, communicated clearly and often, and the quality of the work was as good as anyone could expect. When there was a delay in getting the power company to sign off on the system, they helped get the ball rolling again even though their work was done. I have no reservations recommending them to anyone!

NW Wind & Solar is Awesome!! From the very first quote through to the installation the team has been great! Perfect communication at every step. Paige was willing to come out to the house as many times as necessary to do reviews and gather information prior to installation. Dickson was a great project manager and the installers were great. The installers worked extremely diligently to get the job accomplished and communicated at the start of the day and at the end of each day. We could not be happier with our panels and NW Wind and Solar is still following up to ensure everything is working wh

I would like to recognize and credit the great work the team completed with our residential job. From project proposal, through the installation, and working with WSU for the WA Production Incentive enrollment, the experience was very professional and with superb quality. Being uncertain about what to expect, we had a ton of questions and were thankful for the patience and prompt responses. Great job, team!!

What reviewers keep mentioning

Topics Google derives from the review text, with how often each appears. A frequent topic is not a good one: “price” turns up in praise and in complaints alike.

What the company says about itself

Taken from its own website. We have not checked any of it, and a sentence on a website is not evidence.

  • Insured

“to have the most skilled licensed and insured Electricians. The health and safety…”
  • Licensed

“we are proud to have the most skilled licensed and insured Electricians. The health…”

Its website also mentions 24/7 availability, but not in a sentence we can quote cleanly.

Elsewhere

  • It is also reviewed on Yelp. Worth reading before you sign anything: those are a different crowd, and the complaints that reach the Better Business Bureau rarely reach Google.
  • It posts on Instagram. A page that stopped posting years ago tells you something a listing will not.

Who Google shows alongside them

Google’s own “people also viewed” set, in Google’s order. It is Google’s comparison, not ours.

The ones without a link have no page here, either because Google does not categorise them as solar businesses or because we could not match the name to a listing with confidence.

What we don't know

  • The date above is the newest review we hold, which is not necessarily the newest that exists — we hold a large share of Google's reviews, not all of them.
  • We do not verify licences, insurance or bonding. Nothing here has been checked against a state licensing board.
  • We cannot tell you what an installation costs, and we hold nothing about the equipment they fit.
