Its one and two star share is 3 points below the typical installer in Honolulu. Across Hawaii, 41 of the 87 installers whose breakdown Google has published carry a higher share than this one.

The percentages are Google’s own arithmetic over every review it holds, not a sample we assembled. Separately we hold 39 review texts for this company, quoted below. Google publishes review ages rather than dates, so every date here is approximate.

UPDATE as of 01/11/26: Been having various issues about every 3-4 months since installation in 2022. Current and reoccuring issue appears to be PV link and there is no clear resolve... Oceanhead nicely said they cannot do repairs because it is costly, but various other solar companies have chimed in and said that the company that installed should be working with the household. (Original Review in 2022) Very happy with the service, and extremely happy with the HECO bill after installation. On the SERVICE side, John Yeh, Oceanhead’s sales rep, is extremely responsive, informative, and easy to tr

Mahalo nui to OceanHead Solar for providing efficient, smooth, attentive, and timely solar panel installation for me and my family. There were some hiccups, but nothing out of the ordinary for a home improvement project, however the extraordinary part was the immediate response of the OceanHead team. Pricing was reasonable, and they even helped us get a great deal and rate for a loan. Check them out if you are looking for solar panels. 3 years later - service continues to be excellent! They monitor the system from their office and if any problems arise, they are right there to help out. Outsta

OceanHead installed my PV system in my townehome. They are very professional and persistent, especially when dealing with my difficult HOA. None the less they were able to get the project approved. Within days of approval they were ready to install. It went alot faster then I expected. Installers were friendly and efficient. Quality of their work is what impressed me the most. System looks clean on my garage wall and on my roof. I can't wait to work with them again in the future.

I can't say enough about the team at OceanHead Solar! From the free estimate, to permitting, installation, warranty and repairs, we have had excellent service. Our home did not have any solar capability and we were looking at 26 panels and 2 batteries. With such a large investment, I reached out to 7 highly rated companies on Oahu. OceanHead wasn't the lowest cost provider, but they prepared a fair and competitive package, a professional estimate experience, with on-island installation and repair teams. It has now been over 1 year since installation, and we are happy customers. Everything went

What the company says about itself

Taken from its own website. We have not checked any of it, and a sentence on a website is not evidence.

  • Licensed

“OceanHead Solar and Electric is a licensed Hawaii dealer and installer for…”

  • Licence number

“charging and electrical contractor (LIC# C-33164), rated A+ by the Better Business…”

Its website also mentions better business bureau, but not in a sentence we can quote cleanly.

Elsewhere

  • It is also reviewed on the Better Business Bureau and Yelp. Worth reading before you sign anything: those are a different crowd, and the complaints that reach the Better Business Bureau rarely reach Google.

Ordered by how much we can tell you about each, which is not an order of quality. We do not know which of these is better and would not say if we did.

What we don't know

  • The date above is the newest review we hold, which is not necessarily the newest that exists — we hold a large share of Google's reviews, not all of them.
  • We do not verify licences, insurance or bonding. Nothing here has been checked against a state licensing board.
  • We cannot tell you what an installation costs, and we hold nothing about the equipment they fit.
