Its one and two star share is 1 point below the typical installer in Honolulu. Across Hawaii, 35 of the 87 installers whose breakdown Google has published carry a higher share than this one.

The percentages are Google’s own arithmetic over every review it holds, not a sample we assembled. Separately we hold 37 review texts for this company, quoted below. Google publishes review ages rather than dates, so every date here is approximate.

Ordered by the share of one and two star reviews, weighted by how many reviews stand behind it. It ranks review records, not workmanship.

Every company we hold in Honolulu, on one axis

0% rated 1–2★50%

Each mark is one company we hold in Honolulu whose Google breakdown has been read, placed by its share of one and two star reviews. PV Tech is the red one. The amber line is the middle of that set, which includes suppliers and maintenance businesses as well as installers.

Nothing to do with solar, but just want to publicly thank Justin for stopping and helping me with my flat tire! I know you were on the way home and you didn't have to stop to help, but you did. We could not have changed it without you!!! Makes me happy to know there are still good people in the world. (Tears) If you're hiring good people like this at PV Tech, it speaks volumes for your business. I will definitely be calling you for any future solar needs! BIG MAHALO Justin!!! You're the best! God bless!

If you’re considering solar, go with PV Tech. The installation was flawless, their customer service is excellent, and we’re already seeing the benefits on our electric bill. Can’t recommend them enough.

Topics Google derives from the review text, with how often each appears. A frequent topic is not a good one: “price” turns up in praise and in complaints alike.

What the company says about itself

Taken from its own website. We have not checked any of it, and a sentence on a website is not evidence.

  • Free estimate

“Consultation: It starts with a free consultation with an experienced PV Tech designer.”

  • Licensed

“person working on your home—from our licensed electricians to our PV installers—is…”

Its website also mentions years in business, but not in a sentence we can quote cleanly.

Elsewhere

  • It is also reviewed on Yelp. Worth reading before you sign anything: those are a different crowd, and the complaints that reach the Better Business Bureau rarely reach Google.

Ordered by how much we can tell you about each, which is not an order of quality. We do not know which of these is better and would not say if we did.

What we don't know

  • The date above is the newest review we hold, which is not necessarily the newest that exists — we hold a large share of Google's reviews, not all of them.
  • We do not verify licences, insurance or bonding. Nothing here has been checked against a state licensing board.
  • We cannot tell you what an installation costs, and we hold nothing about the equipment they fit.
