Its one and two star share is 3 points below the typical installer in Colorado. Across Colorado, 122 of the 216 installers whose breakdown Google has published carry a higher share than this one.

The percentages are Google’s own arithmetic over every review it holds, not a sample we assembled. Separately we hold 15 review texts for this company, quoted below. Google publishes review ages rather than dates, so every date here is approximate.

Cody and his team did fantastic work upgrading the electrical system on our travel trailer. He understands every aspect of batteries, solar panels, Victron components, and how to orchestrate them into a working system that is high performance, easy to use, safe, and looks great! He is also a pleasure to work with and communicates clearly throughout the project. After it was completed, we had a few small configuration issues and Cody was extremely helpful as we worked it out. I highly recommend Off Grid Designs to anyone considering a similar project.

While traveling to Boulder we started to experience electrical issues with our Vitron solar equipped RV. We called Cody at Off Grid Designs and he came out to us that evening when we got to our camping site. The next day he spent several hours on the roof of our camper checking all the electrical wires and tightening multiple loose connections. We were very impressed with Cody's knowledge, service and positive attitude and highly recommend Off Grid Designs.

Off Grid Designs in Lafayette Colorado was so helpful in diagnosing and solving some solar and electrical issues in our RV. Cody was so patient and detail oriented in determining what the issue was. He gave great advice for us as we prepare for the camping season. And the charges were so reasonable. No inflated billing plus fast and friendly service!

Topics Google derives from the review text, with how often each appears. A frequent topic is not a good one: “price” turns up in praise and in complaints alike.

Elsewhere

  • It is also reviewed on the Better Business Bureau. Worth reading before you sign anything: those are a different crowd, and the complaints that reach the Better Business Bureau rarely reach Google.
  • It posts on YouTube, Facebook and Instagram. A page that stopped posting years ago tells you something a listing will not.

Who Google shows alongside them

Google’s own “people also viewed” set, in Google’s order. It is Google’s comparison, not ours.

The ones without a link have no page here, either because Google does not categorise them as solar businesses or because we could not match the name to a listing with confidence.

Ordered by how much we can tell you about each, which is not an order of quality. We do not know which of these is better and would not say if we did.

What we don't know

  • The date above is the newest review we hold, which is not necessarily the newest that exists — we hold a large share of Google's reviews, not all of them.
  • We found nothing on a website for this company that states a warranty, a licence or how long it has traded.
  • Google publishes no street address for this company, so we cannot say which town it is based in. Lafayette is the area its listing was returned for, not an address we hold.
  • We do not verify licences, insurance or bonding. Nothing here has been checked against a state licensing board.
  • We cannot tell you what an installation costs, and we hold nothing about the equipment they fit.
