Its one and two star share is 5 points above the typical installer in Phoenix. Across Arizona, 89 of the 269 installers whose breakdown Google has published carry a higher share than this one.

The percentages are Google’s own arithmetic over every review it holds, not a sample we assembled. Separately we hold 70 review texts for this company, quoted below. Google publishes review ages rather than dates, so every date here is approximate.

0% rated 1–2★15%

Each mark is one company we hold in Phoenix whose Google breakdown has been read, placed by its share of one and two star reviews. SouthFace Solar & Electric is the red one. The amber line is the middle of that set, which includes suppliers and maintenance businesses as well as installers.

This company is advertising $149 solar inspection however once you contact them its is over $300 for the inspection. Very misleading advertising. Im not a fan of the bait and switch like scams. When I called in and presented this to them and sent them the picture of this. I asked them if they would honor this price and they said, no. Please be honest about your service and cost upfront.

I called and spoke with a very nice guy. However. When the tech called back he started addressing my need for a solar company to watch my panels. After a confusing few minutes. I stated that I was not in a position to talk about that as my current need was a wifi module. He flipped from nice to agressive in a second. Said if i wanted to go straight to buisness he would. I ended our call stating i would not be using them. Beware

I got a house with a solar installed bought this company called them numerous times they never call back, that is how they go about marketing over promising snd under delivering. Paying $500-$600 a month with close to 32 unless pannels on my roof

They provided a comprehensive approach to understand the discounts from the feds and all the different types of solar products uses which helped us fit our house the best possible way for now and the future.

O was not able to get i to my solar edge monitoring system. Our solar was off line and not producing. Danny Manga was able to reset the solar edge ( when solar edge could not help me), get our solar system up and running and he pit an antenna onto our wifi for the solar system. Now, everything is working perfectly. Danny came to the house. He was friendly and professional. Danny is now our solar tech! I couldn’t be happier!

I just bought a house with Solar, which I had no experience in. I had Danny do the inspection. He was prompt, professional, courteous and answered all of my questions. He updated the firmware, which the previous owner had no idea it even needed. 7 of the 30 optimizers were not working at the time of the inspection, but after he finished it was 30 of 30. Thank you SouthFace.

Topics Google derives from the review text, with how often each appears. A frequent topic is not a good one: “price” turns up in praise and in complaints alike.

Elsewhere

  • It is also reviewed on Yelp. Worth reading before you sign anything: those are a different crowd, and the complaints that reach the Better Business Bureau rarely reach Google.

Who Google shows alongside them

Google’s own “people also viewed” set, in Google’s order. It is Google’s comparison, not ours.

The ones without a link have no page here, either because Google does not categorise them as solar businesses or because we could not match the name to a listing with confidence.

What we don't know

  • The date above is the newest review we hold, which is not necessarily the newest that exists — we hold a large share of Google's reviews, not all of them.
  • We found nothing on a website for this company that states a warranty, a licence or how long it has traded.
  • We do not verify licences, insurance or bonding. Nothing here has been checked against a state licensing board.
  • We cannot tell you what an installation costs, and we hold nothing about the equipment they fit.
