Its one and two star share is 35 points above the typical installer in Utah. Across Utah, 12 of the 167 installers whose breakdown Google has published carry a higher share than this one.

The percentages are Google’s own arithmetic over every review it holds, not a sample we assembled. Separately we hold 8 review texts for this company, quoted below. Google publishes review ages rather than dates, so every date here is approximate.

Called and tried to talk to someone. Asked if he would come out and talk to me and give me a quote and he just said no. Not sure what I said or did, but really poor customer service. Won't even bother to discuss anything with me let alone come out and check out what I need

Their solicitors keep calling and I have asked them many times to put me on the do not call list, however I continue to get calls. STOP

  • 1★ · around August 2020 · the company replied

Like all solar companies, this one does unsolicited outbound calling campaigns. I'm tired of the rudeness of Greg and others who make these calls. After Greg's call today, I promise I will never do business with them.

My 8 kW battery-backed-up Outback Power system has worked well for 4 1/2 years. This morning it wasn't working, so I called Kevin. He came right over. He traced the problem to one of the charge controllers. After a quick re-boot we were running again--no charge for his services. Thanks, Kevin!

Highly recommend this company! Andrew did excellent work designing and installing our system. He was easy to work with, responsive, great at scheduling and follow through and very attentive to detail. He made the system look great and work perfectly. He is extremely knowledgeable about every aspect of Solar. I really appreciate the options he gave us so the system would fit our needs. The best part was his price, coming in almost half the cost of other solar companies. For the best in quality and cost, I would definitely recommend American Solar Power!

This company (Kevin and Andrew) installed my solar in Daybreak. They were significantly less money than all the other companies and seemed more honest and were not as high pressure as the other companies I talked to. I also like that they gave me an emergency outlet and battery options. I highly recommend them!

What the company says about itself

Taken from its own website. We have not checked any of it, and a sentence on a website is not evidence.

  • Licensed

“electrician and Andrew, who is a licensed electrician experienced in all types…”

Its website also mentions free estimate, family owned and years in business, but not in a sentence we can quote cleanly.

Who Google shows alongside them

Google’s own “people also viewed” set, in Google’s order. It is Google’s comparison, not ours.

The ones without a link have no page here, either because Google does not categorise them as solar businesses or because we could not match the name to a listing with confidence.

Ordered by how much we can tell you about each, which is not an order of quality. We do not know which of these is better and would not say if we did.

What we don't know

  • The date above is the newest review we hold, which is not necessarily the newest that exists — we hold a large share of Google's reviews, not all of them.
  • We do not verify licences, insurance or bonding. Nothing here has been checked against a state licensing board.
  • We cannot tell you what an installation costs, and we hold nothing about the equipment they fit.
