Its one and two star share is 4 points above the typical installer in Phoenix. Across Arizona, 103 of the 269 installers whose breakdown Google has published carry a higher share than this one.
The percentages are Google’s own arithmetic over every review it holds, not a sample we assembled. Separately we hold 112 review texts for this company, quoted below. Google publishes review ages rather than dates, so every date here is approximate.
Every company we hold in Phoenix, on one axis
Each mark is one company we hold in Phoenix whose Google breakdown has been read, placed by its share of one and two star reviews. Independent Solar is the red one. The amber line is the middle of that set, which includes suppliers and maintenance businesses as well as installers.

I am one unhappy customer and feel totally taken advantage of. I had Solar put on my house in April of 2023 and was told by my Rep Jordan that I would get a 30% refund back on my taxes and would need to use that money from my return to pay Mosaic which would lower my payments down to 300.00 a month. Well guess what folks, come to find out I was completely mislead by the independent Solar rep, I did get a 30K IRS Tax Credit, not a refund like I was told. Now with this being said, I have a higher Solar payment in which is more than I was told and to top things off I am still paying APS. If you a

Be cautious. This company makes promises that they do not follow through on. It took five weeks, before someone actually came out to see what was going on with my system. Apparently there was a firmware update needed that was preventing one of my inverters from functioning properly. When I call customer service to try and get an update or an idea when someone might be coming out, I get sent to voicemail which is full. Since contacting Palmetto about My issue, I finally got a response from Independent Solar. Cording to the data prior to my firmware update Unisource is buying more electricity fr

So this James guy comes to our house that we just purchased, comes in gives us a quote we say yeah it sounds good, we see if we can get financing and all that stuff somebody comes out measures the house for whatever, we decide to cancel because it's not the best fit for us and now he's texting us threatening us, threatening to sue us even though no services have been rendered. I can't get a hold of the company because even though there are zero callers in front of me they still take me to a voicemail to leave a message. I had to call back twice just to leave a message, and I doubt anybody's ac

I was the last person you'd expect to go solar. Had all the usual objections: doesn't really save money, sketchy sales tactics, warranty voids, sale of home issues, etc. Then I met Jesse Heredia with Independent Solar through an introduction. He didn't push, didn't oversell, just walked through the actual numbers and answered every skeptical question I threw at him. Turns out a lot of what I'd assumed wasn't quite right. I had initially sat down with other solar companies and the numbers never really added up for me. Since the solar tax credits are no longer available I was pretty turned off t

We have been very hesitant to purchase or lease solar in the past. AJ with the Tucson branch did an amazing job at breaking it down to my wife and I which way is the best way to go. They inspected the roof and installed high quality solar components in a timely fashion. AJ had great follow up and checked in throughout the project until completion. We highly recommend Independent Solar to anyone in the Tucson and surrounding areas. AJ was amazing to work with. Great experience!

I am sending a five star Kudos to the awesome Independent team, (Vince, Brett & Micah) who found a resolution to a matter I have been trying to get fixed since December 2025. It took the initiative of one phone call! I would like also to commend the installers and the girls in the office that made the process of installation run so smoothly. They all kept me informed what was scheduled to happen and when.

Topics Google derives from the review text, with how often each appears. A frequent topic is not a good one: “price” turns up in praise and in complaints alike.
What the company says about itself
Taken from its own website. We have not checked any of it, and a sentence on a website is not evidence.
Financing
“and partners understand available financing options, lender programs, and tax incentives…”
Its website also mentions free estimate, but not in a sentence we can quote cleanly.
Elsewhere
- It is also reviewed on Yelp and the Better Business Bureau. Worth reading before you sign anything: those are a different crowd, and the complaints that reach the Better Business Bureau rarely reach Google.
- It posts on YouTube, Instagram and Facebook. A page that stopped posting years ago tells you something a listing will not.

Ordered by how much we can tell you about each, which is not an order of quality. We do not know which of these is better and would not say if we did.
What we don't know
- The date above is the newest review we hold, which is not necessarily the newest that exists — we hold a large share of Google's reviews, not all of them.
- We do not verify licences, insurance or bonding. Nothing here has been checked against a state licensing board.
- We cannot tell you what an installation costs, and we hold nothing about the equipment they fit.
