Its one and two star share is 14 points above the typical installer in the Cave Creek area. Across Arizona, 25 of the 269 installers whose breakdown Google has published carry a higher share than this one.

The percentages are Google’s own arithmetic over every review it holds, not a sample we assembled. Separately we hold 21 review texts for this company, quoted below. Google publishes review ages rather than dates, so every date here is approximate.

Each mark is one company we hold in the Cave Creek area whose Google breakdown has been read, placed by its share of one and two star reviews. Phoenix Pool Solar is the red one. The amber line is the middle of that set, which includes suppliers and maintenance businesses as well as installers.

I had a very frustrating experience with this solar pool company. The technician/owner, Patrick, came out to help get my pool solar system up and running, which was the only service I requested. Unfortunately, instead of focusing on the issue at hand, he kept trying to upsell me on a completely unrelated pavers project. Throughout the visit, Patrick came across as pushy and dismissive. I repeatedly made it clear that I was only interested in fixing my solar pool system, but he continued to steer the conversation toward additional work I neither asked for nor needed. It felt unprofessional and

They do not honor their warranty. A valve failed within a year and they will not fix it.

Awful! They installed our system 2 years ago with a 2 year parts and labor warranty. The first time it leaked they came the same day to fix it. Great! The next time it leaked (bad!) Fenix Pool Solar had been sold so we had to deal with a different company. It was a pain but they came and fixed it. This last time (yes, it’s failed 3 times in 2 years) we were told to deal with the new company. They refused as the original owners had taken the company back. Three weeks of fighting to get someone to fix it under warranty and nothing! Fenix’s own tech told us to register a complaint with the BBB. W

Overall great experience. Salesperson explained what could be done, how many panels, what I could expect, how it would work, and what effect it would have on pool temp over the swim season. The crew showed up on time, did a good job, and cleaned up. I won't know how well it heats up the pool until spring, but I know it'll help extend the swim season.

Fenix Pool Solar & Mist is a great company to work with. I had a solar heat system added to my pool this spring. The lead time between signing the contract and getting the system installed was less than two weeks. The team added a new valve …

Just had a solar heater and patio mister installed by Jamie at Fenix! We had a solar heater in Oregon and knew we wanted one with our new pool in Arizona. The helcoil panels look great and perform better than the panels we had in Oregon. I’m sure the Arizona sun helps a lot. We also purchased a patio mister at the recommendation of Jamie and it definitely makes the patio cooler. Highly recommend Fenix Rob

Topics Google derives from the review text, with how often each appears. A frequent topic is not a good one: “price” turns up in praise and in complaints alike.

Elsewhere

  • It is also reviewed on Yelp. Worth reading before you sign anything: those are a different crowd, and the complaints that reach the Better Business Bureau rarely reach Google.
  • It posts on Facebook. A page that stopped posting years ago tells you something a listing will not.

Who Google shows alongside them

Google’s own “people also viewed” set, in Google’s order. It is Google’s comparison, not ours.

The ones without a link have no page here, either because Google does not categorise them as solar businesses or because we could not match the name to a listing with confidence.

Ordered by how much we can tell you about each, which is not an order of quality. We do not know which of these is better and would not say if we did.

What we don't know

  • The date above is the newest review we hold, which is not necessarily the newest that exists — we hold a large share of Google's reviews, not all of them.
  • We found nothing on a website for this company that states a warranty, a licence or how long it has traded.
  • We do not verify licences, insurance or bonding. Nothing here has been checked against a state licensing board.
  • We cannot tell you what an installation costs, and we hold nothing about the equipment they fit.
